My Fridge has iced up

Detail: There is an ice build up on the back of the fridge (inside)

What to do: You need to defrost the fridge by

  1. Turn fridge off
  2. Use a hair dryer to melt the ice away from the cover plate
  3. Gently remove (unclip) cover plate
  4. Use hairdryer to remove ice from cold plate
  5. Ensure that ice is removed from behind cold plate
  6. Turn fridge back on

You need to investigate why the fridge has iced up. Normally it is because

  1. There is too much stock
  2. There is insufficient space between the top of the fridge and the bench
  3. There has been a power surge or other interference
  4. Or some combination of these
  5. Call Rollex for assistance

My fridge shows a max over 8

Detail: The Max displayed is over 8 degrees.

What to do: It is quite acceptable for the fridge to sometimes show a maximum over 8 degrees.

The important issue is whether it is going into ALARM mode. If it doesn’t alarm it means that the fridge may have been over the range for a short time – but under 15 mins.

Be aware that we can adjust the fridge to run colder at the top (without affecting the bottom temp), however it is getting the compressor to work harder than is necessary.
